2- DAYS GORILLA TREKKING & AKAGERA SAFARI

Early in the morning at 5: 30 am, you will be picked up from your Hotel in Kigali and then drive to Akagera National Park, where we shall do a morning game drive, have lunch in the park, enjoy the beautiful sceneries of Rwanda’s hilly landscape comprised of a blend of wetlands, savannah, and woodland, the natural forests also provide a relaxing feeling. The location of the park shows that it lies at a lower altitude as compared to the rest of the country, therefore meaning that it is not only warmer but also drier in the dry season. Some of the wildlife you may get a chance to see here includes Giraffes, Buffalos, Lions, and Elephants as well as a profusion of birds. If fortunate, we may be able to see the Shoebill Stork, especially around the shores of the lake. From here you will drive back to Kigali and be dropped at your Hotel.

Early morning at 4:30 am you will be picked up from your hotel in Kigali and drive to the park headquarters in Kinigi (Musanze) for a briefing about the endangered mountain gorillas from the park warden. The driver will drop you off at the starting point to trek the gorillas with the ranger guides. This activity may take between 1-7 hours searching for the gorillas depending on their movement. However, meeting them is so rewarding and you will spend maximally 1 hour with them as you take time studying them and taking pictures and videos. After spending your time with the fascinating mountain gorillas you will return to the base and meet your driver and transfer for lunch. After Lunch return to your hotel in Kigali.
