Tour Description: 1 Day Akagera Tour takes you to the Akagera National Park which is located in Eastern Rwanda on the border with Tanzania will give you a great experience to explore this only savanna national park where a safari game drive can only be carried out in Rwanda. Akagera National Park is known for harboring the big 5 with the recent introduction of the lions. Akagera National Park is the only Savannah park in Rwanda and is home to several animals including Lions, Elephants, Giraffes, Hippos, Kobs, Zebras, Bushbucks, Waterbucks, and most recently Black Rhinos.

Early in the morning, you will be picked up from your Hotel in Kigali and then drive to Akagera National Park, where we shall do a morning game drive, have lunch inside the park, enjoy the beautiful sceneries of Rwanda’s hilly landscape comprised of a blend of wetlands, savannah, and woodland, the natural forests also provide a relaxing feeling. The location of the park shows that it lies at a lower altitude as compared to the rest of the country, therefore meaning that it is not only warmer but also drier in the dry season. Some of the wildlife that may be seen here includes Giraffes, Buffalos, Lions, and Elephants as well as a profusion of birds. If fortunate, we may be able to see the Shoebill Stork, especially around the shores of the lake. From here you will drive back to Kigali and be dropped at your hotel.
